July 15, 2009: Ethiopian Boy's Superman Wish Comes True
FOX 12 Idaho reports on a dream come true for Abiyu Baker, an ill six-year-old boy from Ethopia, whose one wish was to be Superman...
- The heroic scene involving Superman, evil robots, and Princess Belle, is probably one Abiyu Baker played out in his mind a thousand times before this day finally arrived.
"His main wish was to be a superhero because he wanted to help people, and especially help other children," said John Baker, Abiyu's dad.
And of course he was sure to get the whole family involved -- his dad as Ironman, brother and sister took on the roles of Spider-man and Word Girl, and mom took on a more sinister role.
"I started out as the evil queen of the robots, who sees the error of her ways and sees good triumph over evil and I become in return to the queen mom role," said Marissa Baker.
All this in an effort to make a little boy's dream come true.
