April 16, 2009: Dress like Superman for Hospitality Action Week
BigHospitality.co.uk reports that members of the U.K. hospitality industry are being asked to lend their support to industry charity Hospitality Action next month by dressing like Superman and wearing their pants over their trousers for a day.
- The action hero pant-wearing day will take place on May 22 and is part of Hospitality Action Week - a drive to raise money for past and present members of the industry who may need financial help with living costs.
HA has designed special stickers for participants to customise their pants and is hoping companies and individuals will sponsor them as well as organise other fundraising events over the week to support the campaign.
Fundraising ideas include washing customers' cars dressed as action heroes, holding a charity football match or a karaoke evening.
"The possibilities are endless; the whole idea is to have some fun whilst raising money for a good cause," said a charity spokesman.
Members of the industry will be able to share photos of themselves and their colleagues modelling their pants over trousers in HA's online photo gallery. For every photo submitted, First Choice Coffee will donate 10p to Hospitality Action. Email photos to Helen Burgess.
