May 2, 2009: Free Comic Book Day Signings

Hey, folks! Neal Bailey here.

The best part of working on this site is you guys, the fan community. I have been lucky enough to get the chance to come out and meet you folks all across the United States over the last few years, and in that process I've made tons of great connections, from Florida to Calgary, from Chicago to LA, from Philadelphia to Seattle, and even all the way to Metropolis. It's been insanely cool.

Unfortunately, financially I can't get out and see you guys too much this year (next year will be better, I believe), but I did want to let folks in the west know about a select few chances to meet and hang out this year, shoot it about Superman, or just generally discuss what you like (or don't) about the Homepage. I'm going to be doing two signings for the "Female Force: Michelle Obama" comic, but that's no reason not to use it also as an excuse to network with Superman Homepage folks, if you're in the Los Angeles or Seattle/Olympia area. And plus, hey, cool folks all around!

Tomorrow, on May 2, Free Comic Book Day, I will be making my way up the I-5 corridor, starting at the always awesome Olympic Cards and Comics, where the real treats will be Eric Trautmann (Checkmate, JSA vs. Kobra, Wide Awake), Brandon Jerwa (Battlestar Galactica, Highlander, SD6!), Eric Nylund (Battlestar Galactica: Cylon War, various Halo novels), and Joshua Ortega (Gears of War; Necromancer; BSG: Cylon War). I'll be around from about 12.00-2:30pm.

Then I'll hop into a rocket and boom my way up to Tacoma, where I'll be visiting my old hometown store, Comic Book Ink. Also present will be members of the 501st Imperial Legion, Jesse Munoz, and Power Girl, and if you get there a little early, you can meet Daniel Way, Clayton Crain, and folks from Valve!

If you can't make either of those, I've been invited by Brave New World to do a signing for "Michelle Obama" to celebrate Mother's Day on May 9th . This will be my first (and only) signing in California, and it's sure to be a solid blast! They say they've invited Michelle as well...

I know it's not explicitly Superman related (though I have written Clark and Lex, mwu ha ha ha!), but it is a good opportunity, if you'd like, to say hello and talk shop. Hope to see some of you there!
