June 7, 2008: Wizard Examines "Smallville" Creative Shake-Up
Wizard Magazine #201, cover-dated July 2008, has a report speculating on what's in store for the eighth season of "Smallville" following the departure of the show's original executive producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Most of the information is speculative at best, suggesting that the new producers could potentially abandon Gough's and Millar's original show edict of "no flights, no tights."The article also suggests that the eighth season could be the show's last because series star Tom Welling's contract runs up after year eight. That, combined with a slight ratings slip, according to the article, makes it "conceivable that the farm boy will finally take his fateful flight to Metropolis after next season."
