June 4, 2008: Green Arrow Becomes Regular “Smallville” Cast Member
The CW has announced that Justin Hartley will join "Smallville" in Season 8 as a cast regular in the role of Green Arrow.Hartley had been hoping to star in his own TV series titled "Austin Golden Hour", but while the pilot episode was shot the series wasn't picked up, opening the door for Hartley to return to "Smallville".
E! Online reports that the storyline for Green Arrow will focus on "Oliver's past and where he comes from as opposed to his Green alter ego."
The report also claims that Kristin Kreuk (Lana Lang) will return for 6 or 7 episodes only, however negotiations are still ongoing.
