August 15, 2008: Superman Movies in Hi-Def VOD

All four Christopher Reeve "Superman" movies will be available for the first time in high definition VOD as part of Warner Bros. Entertainment's 85th anniversary celebration.

Warner Bros. Digital Distribution (WBDD) is celebrating Warner Bros. Entertainment's 85th Anniversary with the Video on Demand (VOD) release of 85 time-honored classic films, many of which will be available for the first time in high definition on VOD.

As of yesterday, "Superman: The Movie," "Superman II," "Superman III," and "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace" will be available via VOD from Time Warner Cable, Comcast, Cox Cable, Charter Communications and Rogers Cable (Canada) as well as satellite providers DirecTV and DISH Network.

In addition, Time Warner Cable will celebrate the Studio's anniversary by holding special outdoor screenings of Warner Bros. Pictures releases in New York and Los Angeles. "Superman: The Movie" will screen in New York only on Monday, August 18th in Bryant Park (6th Ave. and 42nd St.). Lawn opens at 5.00pm with the film screening at 8.30pm.
