April 16, 2008: Superman Serial to Screen in Cleveland Celebration

The first 15-part "Superman" serial starring Kirk Alyn will be screened as part of Cleveland, Ohio's "Summer of Superman" celebrations on Sunday, June 29, at 6:30 pm.

The first live-action Superman film, was also the most popular serial ever made. Kirk Alyn, the first actor to portray the Man of Steel, stars in this classic cliffhanger that recounts Superman's early history and then concentrates on his efforts to stop the Spider Lady, a criminal mastermind, from ruling the world with a lethal new weapon, the "relativity reducer ray."

Special admission: $10.
Cinematheque members, CIA students & staff, and kids 12 & under: $7.
No passes, radio winners, or twofers. All tickets will be sold at the door, night of show.
