Justice League

February 26, 2008: JLA Movie's Title and Martian Manhunter

Yesterday we reported on the Sydney Morning Herald article discussing the JLA movie's possible move out of Sydney's Fox Studios due to issues surrounding tax breaks in Australia. Two things we didn't latch on to from the article were the movie's title and the possible casting of Martian Manhunter J'onn J'onzz.

AintItCool.com speculates on the article's mention of the movie's title being "Justice League: Mortal" and the naming of Hugh Keays-Byrne as one of the Australian actors cast in the movie.

My source says that MORTAL is indeed tied to the film, appearing on official documents (sometimes representing the whole title... so it could also be a Blue Harvest situation). The story also lists a guy by the name of Hugh Keays-Byrne as appearing in the movie, but doesn't say who he'll play.

George Miller fans will remember Hugh from the original MAD MAX. He played Toecutter.

It's speculated that Hugh Keays-Byrne has been cast in the role of J'onn J'onzz, which at age 60 would make him by far the oldest cast member of the JLA team.
