June 13, 2007: Metropolis Illinois 2007 Superman Celebration Report

The Superman Homepage will be publishing a full 4-day report (with photos) on the Superman Celebration that took place this past weekend in Metropolis, Illinois... but in the mean time, WizardUniverse.com has published an article on the 2007 Superman Celebration which you might also like to read...

Illness kept both award-winning artist Murphy Anderson and actress Erica Durance (Lois Lane of "Smallville") from attending, but that didn't keep thousands of super-fans from descending on the rural Illinois town for the four-day Metropolis Superman Celebration. They were just as happy to see Noel Neill (Lois Lane from the Superman serials and 1950s television show), "Supergirl" star Helen Slater and Jerry Maren, who played a "mole man" in George Reeves' "Superman and the Mole Men" movie and was a member of the Lollipop Guild in "The Wizard of Oz."

"We had a few setbacks, but we had a great turnout," said festival co-chair Tricia Childers, who estimated that more than 25,000 attended. "The fans just love Superman and always return to catch up with friends they have made."
