July 19, 2006: Aaron Ashmore Talks About His Role on “Smallville”
SPOILER WARNING!SciFi Wire caught up with Aaron Ashmore to talk about his up-coming role as Jimmy Olsen in "Smallville" Season 6...
- As in other incarnations, this Olsen will work at the Daily Planet, he said. "He's basically been hired as an intern at the Daily Planet, and his job right now is, like, scanning pictures into the computer and stuff like that. But he really wants to be a photographer. Hasn't really perfected his skills yet, you know, half of it's out of focus."
Ashmore added that his Jimmy Olsen won't be much younger than Clark Kent or Lois Lane, unlike the movies and comics. "He is supposed to be younger, but we're all peers, I think," Ashmore said. "That's the way it's playing." And will Jimmy call Clark "Mr. Kent?" Ashmore laughs. "I call him CK, actually," he said. "Yeah, CK. I don't know how much he likes that, but that's what he's been labeled."
