Smallville

July 18, 2006: “Smallville” Season 6 Premiere Date

The new CW Network has revealed that the premiere season 6 episode of "Smallville" will air on Thursday, September 28.

EarthTimes.org has the following details regarding the new TV network...

CW network, the merger of UPN and WB networks, will premiere on September 20 with hot favorite America's Next Top Model at 8 pm. Other hits like Smallville, Gilmore Girls and Seventh Heaven, from among 12 old ones, will also continue to enthrall audiences on the new network. Only two new series, Runaway and The Game, will debut this season, CW executives said. But that's not what's interesting about the network. What is, is the way it combines commercials with entertainment. The network introduces a new concept of 'content wraps', wherein in place of a commercial, a small 30-second story will be aired. And built into these will be the products to be advertised. "Our audience has grown up with television and new media. We are giving them new ways to get involved. This is an experiment. We heard from the advertising community that we needed to reinvent the wheel. There had to be a different way to communicate," said Dawn Ostroff, president (entertainment), CW, while unveiling the schedule for the content lineup at the Television Critics Association conference in Pasadena in California.
