March 2, 2006: “Supergirl #5” Goes Back to Press for New Printing

SUPERGIRL #5, the latest issue in the hit series, has sold out at DC Comics just one day after arriving in stores on February 22. Now, DC Comics sends this special issue back to press for a new, second printing!

Scheduled to arrive in stores on March 22, the SUPERGIRL #5 Second Printing reprints the story written by Jeph Loeb and illustrated by Ian Churchill & Norm Rapmund. The cover presents Michael Turner's drawings of Supergirl and Kara Zor-El from the covers to the first printing, presented together for the first time!

"What an unexpected surprise," says Loeb. "I am so grateful to all the readers and retailers who have stood by this book and made SUPERGIRL a superstar once more. In particular, I'm so happy for the Kara Zor-El fans who have waited the longest. The entire crew - Mike Turner, Norm Rapmund, Aspen Color, Peter Steigerwald, Richard Starkings and my partner and pal, Ian Churchill - all share equally in the success of this book. Editorially, Eddie Berganza, Jeanine Schaefer and Tom Palmer, Jr., have supported us like no one else can. They are the very best.

Adds Loeb, "Of course, this is incredibly bittersweet in that it is also my last issue (for now!) of The Girl of Steel. I've heard what Greg Rucka has in mind and it's absolutely fantastic. Until next time, be well, and thank you all."
