November 6, 2005: Photos from More Public “Superman Returns” Filming
On the night of Saturday November 5th, the crew of "Superman Returns" returned to the streets of Sydney to film more crowd scenes for the movie. Once again they set up location at the Martin Place water fountain, where a few months ago we saw Brandon in costume lifting a green Mustang above his head. This time around there was no main cast, just a hundred or so Extras, who were apparently acting out crowd reactions to events leading up to (or after) the "car lifting/car catching" scene that involved Brandon at the same location month's earlier.
My sister (Car-El) and I once again travelled down to the city to watch and take photos from 6pm till 1.30am. Here below are photos I took, and some video footage of the scenes being filmed (6mb Quicktime file). The 2nd and 3rd clip in the video file show a camera mounted on a crane, with headlights on either side of the camera. I'm assuming this is shooting footage from the point of view of the Mustang.

While watching the filming, we met Anthony Caruso from Chicago, who took some more great photos which are available online at flickr.com, there's even a silly one of me showing how Brandon was lifting the green Mustang in a previous shoot.
