March 15, 2005: George Lowther Superman Novel Listed in Rare Books
The Sunday, March 13 edition of the New York Times Book Review featured a full-page advertisement on its back cover for Bauman Rare Books, a prestigious dealer with a gallery at 535 Madison Avenue in Manhattan.Among the titles featured this week (which include a 1669 edition of the poems of John Donne selling for $8,800 and an 1829 first edition of Thomas Jefferson's writings priced at $3,800) is George Lowther's 1942 novel The Adventures of Superman, which is listed at $1,500.
Whether in fine art or collectible literature, Superman once again finds himself in distinguished company.
