May 24, 2005: More Superman Comics Sell Out at DC
ACTION COMICS #827, the first issue by the fantastic new creative team of writer Gail Simone and artists John Byrne & Nelson, has sold out at DC Comics just five days after arriving in stores on May 11."I'm really excited by all the amazing buzz for this book," says Simone. "I received a ton of positive letters from retailers, and I think it just proves that people love to see John Byrne draw Superman. And he does draw a GREAT Superman! Can't wait for people to see the issues coming up! Thanks to VP - Executive Editor, DCU Dan DiDio and Group Editor Eddie Berganza for giving me a chance to work on this character with this art team!"
Watch for ACTION COMICS #828, arriving in comics shops June 8!
Meanwhile, LEX LUTHOR: MAN OF STEEL #2, the second issue of the amazing 5-part miniseries written by Brian Azzarello and illustrated by Lee Bermejo, has also sold out at DC Comics.
"This just goes to show that people really are interested in different takes on classic characters," says Bermejo. "I guess it really IS time to root for the bad guy!"
