August 30, 2004: The Flash Beats Superman in Race
Greg Biffle's #16 The Flash car beat Kurt Busch's #97 Superman car at Michigan International Speedway during the GFS Marketplace 400 earlier this month."Super Power meets Horse Power" was the theme of the 6 especially-painted NASCAR cars. The other cars in the race were Green Lantern #99, Wonder Woman #21, Batman #6, and the Justice League Team car.
From all accounts it was an excellent race, with Superman (Busch) in the top 10 for most of the race, only dropping back to 26th position after a 'bump' on the back straightaway after turn 2 caused him to spin out. Some fender damage and a few repairs later and Superman (Busch) was back in the thick of things.
By the end of the race and after various pit changes Superman (Busch) was back in it near the top of the heap, finishing in 6th place. However The Flash was the winner (followed by Batman #6 Mark Martin in 2nd place). The Flash (Biffle) seemed to struggle through the early part of the race, but slowly and steadily edged one driver after another out of the way and ended up in the only place that counts, the front spot - winning by 8.216 seconds!
