Death and Life of Superman

February 16, 2004: Best-Selling Superman Novel Returns in New Edition

The New York Times bestseller, The Death and Life of Superman, will return this March in its first trade paperback edition from Barnes & Noble Publishing.

Written by well-known comic book creator and novelist Roger Stern, The Death and Life of Superman was originally published in a hardcover edition by Bantam Books in 1993 and spent five weeks on the New York Times Bestsellers List.

The new, revised tenth-anniversary edition from Barnes & Noble Publishing includes new introductions by Stern and DC Comics editor Mark Carlin, and a new postscript by the novel's editor, Charles Kochman. The Death and Life of Superman adapts and expands upon the story originally appearing in the best-settling Superman comic book series, exploding in depth the Man of Steel's cataclysmic battle with Doomsday and the dark days following Superman's funeral. It reveals the truth about the four myserious super-beings that appeared after Superman's death, each claiming to be the last son of Krypton. And, at its heart, the novel recounts the epic romance of Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

Stern was one of the core Superman writers who contributed to the comic books that inspired the novel. He is also the author of Smallville: Strange Visitors -- an original novel from Warner Books based on the characters in the hit WB television series -- and is currently at work on his third novel, a new Superman/Justice League story, for Pocket Books.

The Death and Life of Superman by Roger Stern is a trade paperback brom Barnes & Noble Publishing [ISBN: 076075439X]. Its publication date is March 2004, with a price of US$9.95. Pre-Order your copy now!
