Wizard #148

January 11, 2004: Superman in “Wizard #148”

I know it's been out for a few weeks now, but if you haven't checked out the latest issue of Wizard magazine (issue #148), then here's what you're missing in relation to Superman and "Smallville":

  • Jeph Loeb suggests "Smallville" fans keep an eye out for an up-coming episode titled "Delete" (written by Kelly Souders and Brian Peterson) for further Chloe Sullivan/Lois Lane revelations.

  • Wizard take an indepth look at the up-coming DC Comics title "Identity Crisis". Inspired by a 1950s "The Adventures of Superman" episode by the same name, this series is being heralded as the next great DC epic - a tragic murder mystery that promises many victims and a redefining of the entire DCU from top to bottom.

  • An 8-page preview of "Superman/Batman #8" with the interior story line title of "Supergirl from Krypton". Yes, a new Supergirl! The 8-page preview shows Batman finding a Kryptonian vessel with a message in Kryptonian engraved on its exterior. Batman doesn't get time to translate it, but I did. :) The part shown reads: "...vessel carries my daughter... ...-El from the now dead... ...on treat her as you would... ...child for you will see th... ...she ... ...be for your w..."

  • Wizard names their cast for an up-coming Superman movie, and gives a quick run down of what they'd like to see happen in the trilogy of Superman films.

  • Under the title of "Games We Wanna See" the Wizard magazine staff picture what a video game based on the TV show "Smallville" might be like.

  • Wizard list the 50 most expensive Superman comics ever! With "Action Comics #1" listed at a huge US$400,000.00
