October 11, 2003: Ron Garney Signs Exclusive to DC Comics

Ron Garney, renowned artist of titles such as Captain America, Uncanny X-Men and The Hulk, has signed a two-year exclusive agreement with DC Comics.

"So far my experience with DC has been very refreshing," says Garney. "There's a real professional atmosphere in the office, and people have been outstanding as far as their enthusiasm for me coming on board. I've never had the chance to draw the DC characters other than the JLA: OUR WORLDS AT WAR one-shot, so I'm interested to see how my artwork will evolve drawing them on a more consistent basis. So far I'm having a real ball, more so than I probably expected, especially whenever I have the chance to draw Superman."

"Ron's dynamic art style is exactly what we need to complement some of the powerful stories coming from DC in the near future," says Dan DiDio, DC's VP Editorial.

Garney's upcoming work for DC includes an unscheduled 6-issue JLA story arc written by Chuck Austen. Other projects are in early discussion stages and will be announced as detailed become available. JLA: OUR WORLDS AT WAR is available in the SUPERMAN: OUR WORLDS AT WAR Book One TP.
