Superman #200

September 18, 2003: Superman Comics Revamp/Relaunch in 2004

Newsarama have posted a report taking a look at the complete rundown of changes for the Superman comic books in 2004. Here's an excerpt from the article...

Come December, the clock for Superman is ticking. The revamp/relaunch ball starts rolling with Superman #200 which kicks off a three-month run of setting the stage for the new creative teams to start on their books in April. Newsarama spoke with Superman group editor Eddie Berganza for more.

First off, before every new beginning, there has to be an end, and for many of the current plotlines in the Superman books still ongoing by December, Superman #200 will serve as a bow...and knot.

"In part issue #200 will see the end to a lot of things," Berganza said. "It puts the conclusion of one of the major storylines that has been lingering from when my first new team -- the one included Jeph Loeb and Joe Kelly -- took over. That task fell to Steve Seagle that little small task and he'll he also resolve some of the plot threads he's introduced. Thankfully, it all arrives at the same point.

"And, if I may, I want to publicly thank both Steve and Scott McDaniel for their parts this past year in their work on Superman. It's not an easy job and they've been pros to work with right up to the end by being very understanding and supportive about the changes that are coming."
