PS2 Superman Game

September 29, 2002: Superman PS2 Game Reviews

The Superman PS2 game, "Superman: Shadow of Apokolips" is now on sale!

Positive reviews are coming in from fans and games fanatics, here are a few sent in to the Superman Homepage in the past week...

Erick Henry:
I picked up my copy of "Superman: Shadow of Apokolips" yesterday and man, all I can say is wow!!!!! There is not enought words to express what I am feeling about this game besides the fact that Superman fans are going to get what they always wanted, a real Superman game. This game lets you do the things that Superman does. You have all of his powers, you begin the game with Superbreath, flight and speed, (The first few levels are an intro basically showing you how to use his powers and when.) On the next level you gain access to all of them, Heat Vision, X-Ray Vision, everything. There are no pick-ups through the whole game to keep these at full power your Super powers will regenerate themself over time, and pretty quick I might add. The other cool thing, your health also regenerates over time, not as quick as the powers but quick enough. It made me think, man they have really gone out to make this as much as Superman as they can. The levels are great, they look beautiful, Metropolis is big, enormous, and awesome. Flying around there is great fun. I played that level over and over just becasue I had so much fun flying and landing on the Daily Planet. There is also a level where you get to be Clark Kent, this is also really cool. I have not finished the whole game yet but from the looks of it I have not even put a dent in it yet, I am not even half way through. to top all this great stuff off the original voice cast from "Superman: The Animated Series" is back. This game is finally what I have been waiting for. It looks like Infogrames finally listened to what everyone had been saying for years and gave us what we wanted.

William Hatchel:
Do not fear this game because of Superman 64. All Super abilities are available from the start including flying, hovering, x-ray vision, heat vision, and super speed. You will have a blast using all of them too. Yes, there are two health bars. Superman is not invincible in this game or else there would simply be no challange. However, both bars (health and super-powers) recharge constantly so no icon collecting or flying through hoops here! AWESOME game play experience!

Purchase your copy of "Superman: Shadow of Apokolips" today!
