April 12, 2002: Superman - Unreal Tournament
2002 seems to be the year for Superman games... We all know about the games coming out for the PS2, xBox and the Gameboy Advance, but here's a Superman game (of sorts) you may not have heard of... "Super Man beta 2".A modification of the First Person Shooter game "Unreal Tournament". This modification allows players to battle in "Unreal Tournament" games as the Man of Steel!
Modified by ZenCoder "Super Man beta 2" has the following instructions:
- Alt fire toggles between flying and walking. The view also changes to behind view when in flying mode.
- The Fire button shoots supermans X-Ray vision as a giant lazer pulse. If super man is in behind view mode he keeps flying but the view shifts to first person.
- As superman gains power ups the xray vision increases in strength.
- power 0 = 50 pts of damage
power 1 = 75 pts of damage
power 2 = 100 pts of damage
power 3 = 125 pts of damage
etc.. - Power ups are obtained by killing the enemy. A floating image of superman will appear above the enemy corpse for 5 seconds. making contact with the image will give you the power up.
- While in behind view fly mode super man will regernate one point of health per power up per second. The maximum number of powerups is 10 so he can regenerate a max of 10 health points per second.
