February 5, 2002: Derec Aucoin Joins Superman Team - Update

Comics Newsarama reports that DC Comics has confirmed that artist Derec Aucoin has been named as the new regular penciller of "Adventures of Superman".

Having already pencilled both #590 and #599 of the title, Aucoin will start his run with July's issue #606. Issues #603-605 will be pencilled by artist Carlos Meglia.

"Adventures of Superman" writer, Joe Casey had this to say about Derec Aucoin's appointment in his column at the Man of Action website...

"This is great for me, since Derec is a good friend as well as a great artist (especially when he has the opportunity to ink himself, which he'll be doing on this book). As regular readers of ADVENTURES might remember, the Great and Powerful Aucoin has filled in on this book on many an occasion last year. Not for nothing, but a few of those issues are some of my favorites of my Superman work so far. Needless to say, we're both psyched to be working together on a regular basis.

Joe Casey also confirmed that he's been signed on to write a KISS/Superman crossover tentatively scheduled for later this year.
