October 22, 2001: "Superman Lives" Pre-Production Artwork
According to SHATM, former Superman comic book artist Kerry Gammill has released some pre-production character design artwork from the long-awaited next Superman movie, "Superman Lives". The artwork was commissioned back when Tim Burton was working on the project. The movie has long been in limbo, with delays rumored to be due to lack of a good script... a script which has long been reported to be based around the "Death of Superman" story from the comic books. The first drawings (top right) depict design sketches of Doomsday's head, with a full-body image shown below (left). The last drawing (bottom right) is of a creature supposedly part of Brainiac's alien menagerie.
