August 8, 2001: World's Finest on the Big Screen?
Variety reports that a "World's Finest" movie could well be on the way to the big screen. The article states that screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker (Sleepy Hollow, Seven) has been tapped to write a script for a feature film that would team together Superman and Batman. Wolfgang Petersen (The Perfect Storm) is reportedly attached to direct the film.According to the article, the movie joins movies like Batman: Year One, Batman Beyond and a new Superman movie on Warner Bros. development slate. It does not replace them. However fans should be reminded that development efforts don't always result in a finished movie.
