February 26, 2001: Superman DVD Update and San Antonio Information
My trusty connection to the Superman DVD has confirmed with the head of the Superman DVD restoration team that the "Superman: The Movie" Special Edition DVD will indeed be a single 18 gigabyte disc with the re-edit on one side and supplemental materials (three documentaries and screen tests) on the other side. There will be no theatrical version on the DVD. A very small number of 2-disc pressings have been released to some Warner Bros. employees to review for accuracy, content, etc. One disc is the film and the other is the supplemental. Therefore, the DVD of "Superman: The Movie" you and I will be buying on May 1st is a one-disc DVD package.Also, "Superman: The Movie" is tentatively scheduled to play in 9 San Antonio theaters from March 23rd to the 25th in Regal and AMC theaters. As yet I don't have any screening times, however this should all be confirmed in a week or so.
