December 20, 2001: Dorkin Talks "Superman Adventures" Finale!

Toon Zone has published an interview with writer Evan Dorkin asking him a few questions about his 2-part conclusion to the "Superman Adventures" comic book title. Here is a small excerpt from the interview...

"I don't really have much to say about the Power Play two-parter because I'm not particularly happy about the way it turned out -- and I blame our script for that. In a nutshell, Sarah and I pitched the story several years back, but never had the time to work on it. By the time we started scripting we learned Power Play was the final arc for the book. The story centered on Luthor and Livewire, and wasn't in any way designed to send off the series. I tried to compensate by adding too much business into the second issue to give it more of a payoff, but ultimately that just overstuffed the issue. Sarah and I tend to write dense scripts, but this one went overboard."
