Ed McGuinness's Superman

June 29, 2001: Ed McGuinness Renews Exclusive Contract

DC Comics is pleased to announce that Ed McGuinness (SUPERMAN) and Scott McDaniel (BATMAN), two of the artists involved in bringing the world's best-known heroes into a new century, have renewed their exclusive agreements.

McGuinness first gained prominence with the WildStorm series MR. MAJESTIC before creating his powerful yet graceful portrayal of the Man of Steel. McDaniel, who made his name at DC with an acclaimed run on NIGHTWING, brings his dynamic, high-energy drawing style to the Dark Knight.

Says Ed McGuinness, "It's like a dream come true working on Superman. I couldn't enjoy it more, and seeing how well received it's all been has been a real blessing. It's awesome working with Eddie Berganza - he's a really good friend, which makes everything easy and comfortable."

"Both Ed and Scott have proven themselves truly unique visual stylists," says Executive Editor Mike Carlin, "but then they're also professional, reliable AND nice guys, as well! No downside for us - it's our pleasure to extend our working relationship with them!"
