March 12, 2001: The New York City Comic Book Museum is throwing a party!

This April, The New York City Comic Book Museum will host "Beyond the Panels", a fundraiser in celebration of the men and women of the comic book industry. The event will be held at the Commonwealth Brewery and Grill at Rockefeller Center in New York City on Saturday, April 14th from 7-10 p.m.

This gathering will serve not only as an introduction for the museum to the comic book world, but as an opportunity, in a relaxed party atmosphere, for writers and artists to meet with fans and discuss their work.

"For a year now we have been sidestepping the comic book industry, purposely letting people wonder who we were and what we were up to, that's all about to change," says David Jay Gabriel, Executive Director and Founder. "So far there has been a warm reception from the comic book world with a keen eye on us and a quiet excitement about the museum. It's an organization that can only serve and promote the medium and the men and women 'beyond the panels'."

The guest list is indeed star-studded and appeals to a wide variety of tastes. If your interest is comic book luminaries, come to meet Marvel's Editor-in-Chief Joe Quesada, and legendary Neal Adams and Michael Kaluta. If Goth art appeals to you then maybe you'll enjoy talking with Oh My Goth's creator Voltaire. Or, if you prefer the hot new stars of the industry, then we'll have Phil Jimenez, Jae Lee, Amanda Connor, Jimmy Palmiotti and many more just for you. A host of talent rarely seen gathered together in New York City all assembled for one momentous evening. "You never know what other surprises are in store for the night... we have to keep some secrets."

You don't want to miss out on this event!

Ticket price is $100 and space is limited to 400. So purchase tickets early to insure your spot at this event. Call 212-712-9454 or send an email to tickets@comic.com.
