April 25, 2000: "Superman" Orchestrator Arthur Morton Passes Away at 91

We are sorry to announce another loss in the "Superman" family. Arthur Morton, who co-orchestrated the score for "Superman" (as well as many Jerry Goldsmith scores) passed away on April 15 at the age of 91, ending a remarkable career in motion picture score orchestrations.

Mr. Morton had a long career spanning over 65 years, assisting in many motion picture scores, many of those were written by his long-time friend, Jerry Goldsmith. He also orchestrated scores for television series such as "The Waltons" and "Peyton Place". In 1978, Mr. Morton orchestrated John Williams' score for "Superman".
