October 11, 2000: Young Superman Fan in the News

The following article was printed in the "Column 8" feature of the Australian "Sydney Morning Herald" Newspaper on Tuesday October 10, 2000.

Having seen TV news footage of the Kingsgrove train derailment on Friday, four-year-old "Clark Kent" Nastasi, of Bardwell Park, demanded he be allowed to put on his Superman outfit and help get the carriages back on the track.

"Unfortunately," says his mother Iris, "after hours of arguing and nagging, his superpowers could not persuade me to let him go. The next morning, he again launched a desperate description of how they needed him there, so I agreed to take him to the site in his cape and red and blue tights. He was completely deflated when there was no sign of the train or the trauma of the previous day. CityRail clean-up... faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive?
