June 7, 2000: Adventures of Superman minus Howard Porter

Proving that any and all comic book news should be taken with a grain of salt, DC Comics has told Fandom's Comics Newsarama that artist Howard Porter (JLA), who was supposed to become the regular penciller on Adventures of Superman starting this September, is not only no longer attached to this book, but he has left DC Comics altogether.

Earlier this year, Porter signed a 2 year exclusive contract with DC and at the same time was officially announced as the AOS penciller. According to a DC spokesperson, Porter is leaving DC on very good terms to pursue a full-time career outside of comics, possibly as a Web Designer.

Eddie Berganza has announced that artist Mike Miller (X-Man) will fill the spot left open on AOS. "Mike is doing some real cool stuff on the book. His first issue of AOS actually hits next week, and it's nothing compared to what he's doing now. In short, he's my man!"
