April 11, 2000: Superman: Arkham
Superman: Arkham is a story running through the Superman titles in July."What we're going to be doing this summer is turning Superman's world upside down," explained Superman editor Eddie Berganza. "He becomes the Man Who Steals. He commits murder of some millionaire guy called Lex Luthor.
"Everyday within each of the four books, Superman will escape from Arkham Asylum and he'll get Bizarro after him, who will bring him back everyday. So like clockwork, morning he escapes, by evening he's back in jail.
"It's all part of some machinations by some villain who remains a mystery."
The story effects other characters such as Supergirl, who is a nun, and Superboy, who flips burgers for a living. Berganza said there will be several new villains revealed in the Superman titles, including Ignition, Scorch and Bounty.
