New Zealand Mint Extends Their Partnership with DC Comics

The New Zealand Mint has announced they’ve extended their partnership with DC Comics to include a collection of Pure Silver Foil comic book covers.

As we announced back in April, the New Zealand Mint released a 35g fine silver reproduction of the cover of “Action Comics #1”, featuring the first appearance of Superman. Now they’ve followed that release with a 35g fine silver reproduction of the cover of “Superman #1” from 1939.

The issue is considered the beginning of self-titled super hero comic books featuring larger than life heroes. Licensed by DC Comics, this unique foil features a replica of the stunning Superman #1 cover and incorporates both colour and engraving. This 35g fine silver collectible is presented in a sturdy acrylic holder, designed to frame the foil and allow for easy display. Packaged inside a complementary themed carrier, this makes the ultimate gift for any DC Comics, Super Hero or Superman fan.

Additionally, the New Zealand Mint has also released a series of “Justice League” 5g Silver Coin Notes, featuring the character designs from the recent “Justice League” movie.

The Superman 5g Silver Coin Note is the sixth and final release in the collection, it features a striking image of Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel with the iconic Superman S-Shield, brought to life through a combination of engraving and colour printing. The unique serial number in the mintage is also printed on the note.

This Superman Silver Coin Note, and indeed the whole Justice League Collection, would make an excellent gift for any serious fan.
