Syfy.com has released character posters for the upcoming “Krypton” TV series.
Seg-El (Cameron Cuffe), the legendary Man of Steel’s grandfather, who is faced with a life and death conflict – save his home planet or let it be destroyed in order to restore the fate of his future grandson.
Nyssa-Vex (Wallis Day) is the youngest of her house, and she is as brilliant with politics as she is with the law.
Dev-Em (Aaron Pierre) a Sagitari who has always relished his role as a protector.
Lyta-Zod (Georgina Campbell) is torn between proving herself worthy of the Zod name and her innate desire to help and heal the people of Krypton.
The final poster brings all four characters together in one image.

I know that this series isn’t related to Smallville, but in this photo Seg-el’s jacket reminds me of the jacket Tom Welling wore in season 10 of Smallville.
The whole thing reminds me of Smallville. One of the clips (which I think kicks off the the whole thing) is about someone going back in time with the cape to show Seg-El, which feels like a direct pull from that one Smallville episode where the girl could see the characters’ futures and all we saw was the cape flapping in the wind. So I don’t think you’re far off at all.
Can someone explain to me, with how popular and how often the character is used, why does it seem there is no definitive and unified House of Zod crest?
Yeah, that’s super weird, especially considering that the biggest name associated with this series is David Goyer, whose previous Superman work Man of Steel had a pretty definitive Zod crest which there was no reason to abandon.
Those taglines are a bit on the corny side. Just because there’s an obvious pun to be made doesn’t mean you have to make it, but what the El do I know?
Why the El can’t there be Superman show with Superman in it?

Agreed. Smallville was a good idea for a time when TV didn’t like Superheroes. Supergirl was a good idea for a time when TV does. Krypton… weird, but maybe I’ll try it. Metropolis? Rao! Can we get a bloody Superman show again please?
Everything I’ve seen of this series so far (except the S-shield, which I love) makes me think it’s going to be kind of a bland and predictable story about a sexy young rebel who rebels and sexes, with minimal enough ties to Superman.
In spite of myself though, I kind of love the “Fight Like El” tagline. It’s groan-inducingly cheesy, but I can’t help but kind of love it for that.
I am wondering if we will see any Doomsday like creatures in this series since in BVS it was mentioned that genetic tampering was forbidden. Speaking of genetics, would there be any mention of the codex in this series? I didn’t understand that part in man of steel, so I’m wondering if they can explain it in further detail in this series.
Why is it that this series will air on syfi and not CW? I thought CW would have a say in a superman related show. Does it have to do with the story taking place on another world?
Perhaps because it’s not a superhero show. “Gotham” isn’t on The CW either.
