The new edition of “Entertainment Weekly” (on stands this Friday) features a new image and interview with Ezra Miller, who plays Barry Allen/The Flash in the upcoming “Justice League” movie. As a sneak peek, EW.com has released the new image online, showing Batman, The Flash and Wonder Woman together.
“He’s this really endearing, altruistic nerd,” Miller says. “He’s the 13-year-old Metallica fan, and Metallica says, ‘We lost our drummer in a freak accident. We need you to play drums, bro!’ I don’t even have drumsticks!” Though the film’s plot is a guarded secret, the Flash will join DC’s most powerful heroes to fight a cosmic threat, hopefully with Wonder Woman on lead guitar and Batman on bass.
“Justice League” will be released to theatres on November 17, 2017.
So in the video that’s posted, are these actual upcoming movies or is EW just speculating?
The Flash was supposed to come out next year, but it got bumped because they can’t get a director to commit. I don’t think they even have a final script yet. I’m sure The Batman will get made, that’s their cash cow character. I think they are shooting Aquaman. I doubt Cyborg will get made, he’s not a major character, even in the comics he’s never been outside a team setting. The Rock has been signed for Black Adam, but that’s about as far as that movie has come. I thought that Justice League Dark had already been canceled, but… Read more »
Why is this getting down-voted? All I did was mention the progress of upcoming movies. WTH don’t shoot the messenger.
Um… why is Flash so red and Wonder Woman so devoid of color? They should have used the WW movie suit.
Because Zach Snyder was in charge of this and he hates color. Even Flash is pretty dull, he just looks bright next to Batman and WW.
Sometimes I certainly seems like it. We’ve come a long way since the 90’s X-Men movies with them all in black leather, making fun of “yellow spandex”, but it seems some have moved further past it than others.
Yeah, I’m not to thrilled with the color texture of wonder woman’s outfit myself. I thought it looked better in her movie too. I don’t understand the need to make DC superheroes movie suits dark. In my opinion the only hero who should have a dark suit is Batman because he’s often viewed as a dark character. I always viewed Superman, Wonder Woman, and the flash as hopeful heroes which is why I always thought bright colors worked so well for them. Especially Superman, because his character often represents hope.
Hopeful heroes??? That’s all in the past. They don’t live in that universe anymore.
They droned on ad infintum that the “S” stands for hope. Or did you not see that half of MOS?
Bright colors do work well for them. The WW movie reactions show this quite plainly. That suit has a nice amount of color, and you don’t see people making fun of it for that (or if there are, they’re a very small minority).
JasEl,
I don’t know why you were voted down either, and to be voted down for answering my question on upcoming movies also puzzles me. Thank you for answering my question on DC related superhero films.
Look at the direction they’re going now. Because WW has now been deemed the savior of the WB world a sequel has been granted. It’s all about women! They’ve even got Batgirl planned. (who the hell want’s to see Batgirl?). The WB is not moving towards another Superman movie(sequel). I wouldn’t be surprised that after the JL, we don’t see Superman for a long while. Long enough that HenryC will be replaced.
Well, I hope that they bring back some measure of hope in the next Superman film. Hope to the degree that Superman fans will be happy with. I don’t know how they can do it. Maybe have Henry smile at least once to the audience as Superman? I can’t see why that can’t be done for the next film. It’s up the the people in charge of the films I guess.
Lets be realistic about this shall we. While the symbol on his chest stood for hope on Krypton, here it’s a “S”. In two movies he hasn’t been called Superman to his face. The WB has been missing in action regarding anything on screen Superman related. I’ll be surprised if we see anything regarding Superman on the JL trailers. It’ll probably only be just the slightest tease if we do. I think the fact that their moving ahead with other characters while leaving him in the background says it all. If you look at Marvel and what they’re doing, they… Read more »
I think Marvel *is* influenced by hype, but it just doesn’t have as much of a factor because they’ve taken a good amount of time to build their universe. They’ve made a fair number of mistakes and clunkers to be sure and they have their “trope patterns”, but they’re still able to bank on the hard work they did. I’d cite “Wolverine” and “Hulk” movie re-dos as listening to fans and hype/attention.
WB would be wise to do the same. I can’t yet say if they are, yet. One good movie (my opinion, of course) does not a pattern make.
I agree that the DC movies needs to find a way to surpass Marvel movies. Marvel has at least 10 years of superhero movie continuity. That’s a kind of a hurdle for DC, since they’ve been cramming a lot of stories into their films especially Batman v Superman. That film could have been divided into 3 or 4 films. I think what DC needs to do is plan out the stories they want to show and take their time on each film rather than rushing the job. I look at batman v superman and I think it was rushed.
Well I’m sorry but I don’t see ANY of these WB/DC movies as being rushed. What I see is their interpretation of trying to transfer their comic book personalities into a movie. Some work and some, as we’ve seen, don’t. It’s, IMO that simple.
I don’t know, man.. I’d call the theatrical BvS cut definitely rushed. Some very important character motivation beats missing there.
Maybe it’s how the audience views it I guess. One person may see it one way while another sees it differently. Well, at least we can agree on that right?
I mean to say that everyone has a different point of view and opinion.
As I said before, it depends on how the viewer feels about the film. I feel it was rushed because of the story. It’s starts off as a batman origin then turns into a batman vs superman followed by a Superman Batman Wonder Woman trinity that eventually leads to the death of superman then afterwords, the start of the justice league. As I said, I felt like it was rushed because of this. The trinity, death of superman, batman origin, batman v superman I feel could have all been made into separate films. That’s why I feel it was rushed.… Read more »
Kal-Elvis,
I too felt like the colors used in Wonder Woman was well used. I liked the tone they went for. I wonder if the reason story wise on why her outfit is darker might be because of age. Colors in clothing are not permanent, at least if not properly washed. So I’m thinking if Wonder Woman is using the same outfit she wore in her movie, then time would have faded her suit. That’s just a possible explanation story wise. As for film wise, it’s the director’s disision for color tone I guess.
That is an interesting possibility! I’d say it’s more to do with Snyder picking those colors for the BvS WW costume – he seems to largely have a similar color leaning as Brian Singer (see: X-Men, Superman Returns, etc).
But one thing that would be cool… if her costume gets a refresh at the end of the movie when she is more optimistic by the end of it. That would be great. I’m not holding my breath, but that would work well.
Maybe after justice league the colors used for each hero’s suits will be brighter. Like in the Wonder Woman movie. Who knows? It might not happen, but I’m not one one to close the door on that possibility. I guess time will tell.
Is there a scene in batman v superman where Lex Luthor finds out who Superman is? I’ve watched the theatrical and directors cut, and I cannot figure out how Lex Luthor found out who superman is. That’s one of the things that has bothered me about this film, and if there is an explanation or a deleted scene then that would explain a lot.
Supposedly Luthor gets the info from the crashed ships computer. A ridiculous concept. How and why would any of that information had been entered into that crashed ships data bank is another mystery that is another plot hole in BvS. As much as I don’t want to admit it, there are many of these unexplained sequences through out the movie. And maybe that’s why some have concluded that it was rushed.
At the same time, everyone should have known that Superman was Clark Kent. Lois Screams Clark while in ear shot of the Police officer who dropped her off at the Kent Farm. With all of the Activity that took place on Smallville of all places, the gov’t would definitely know. Hell he even told them he was from Kansas at the end. 2 + 2 still equals 4.
You’re right about that. Seems they,(ZS) went out of the way not call him Superman. But the farm arrival was just one of the scenes that should have been modified before MOS was released. What do they do these re-shoots for if not to correct major mistakes like that. And we all know about other miss-cues that should have been addressed.
I see. Thanks for answering my question.
On a possible positive note. Just read that the WB has released a statement saying they have room for 2 movies in the 2020 time slot. Let us all hope that one of them will be a MOS sequel.
Re 2020, it’s possible, but doubtful. Most likely for WW 2 and The Batman.
Will there be anymore trailers for Justice League? I don’t remember seeing Steppenwolf in any of the current trailers, and I was wondering will he be in a trailer at some point? If he is in any of the current trailers, I might have not have seen him.
