“Action Comics #1036” was scheduled to be released today, however supply issues have forced a delay with the comic book now due to be released on Tuesday, November 9.
In light of the news, writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson took to Twitter to share some details on the upcoming issues, specifically in regards to some of the characters we’ll be reading about on Warworld.
“You guys have been so incredibly kind with your excitement for the Warworld Saga,” wrote Johnson. “I’m gonna try to make it up to you a little with some images/backstory from the comic.”
“As you can see, this unfortunate soul has Superman’s house sigil branded into his chest. Below that mark, you can also see other markings. These markings are from the language ‘Mal’tsunakal,’ the language of one of the most common warzoons tribes. I can’t reveal yet what it says because that would be a spoiler, but it’s a phrase of great significance to the warzoons and to the Monguls in particular.”
“Chaytil is the oldest living warzoon, on Warworld or anywhere else. And he has Seen Some S#!t. His cred is unrivaled, and his story is easily long/bloody enough for his own Black Label series. Despite his limitations, every warzoon knows his rep and is rightly afraid of him.”
“One of the most vicious warzoon tribes on Warworld builds vehicles that loosely resemble Earth vehicles. They have almost nothing in common under the hood, but the outer resemblance is because a scouting party from this tribe discovered Earth when Clark Kent was still a child. Earth was unknowingly saved from conquest by dumb luck when the warzoons discovered a much richer and more convenient world to pillage. But the scouting party liked some of what they found here, and returned to Warworld with a small number of vehicles, weapons, and human slaves.”
