NECA’s SDCC Exclusive “Superman vs. Xenomorph” Action Figure Two-Pack

NECA has announced that the long-awaited “Superman vs. Xenomorph” action figure two-pack will finally be released.

A San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, the Superman versus an Alien Warrior action figure set comes in a flapped window box. Superman will include two interchangeable head sculpts, a heat vision accessory, and two sets of interchangeable hands.

Priced at us$60, the action figure two-pack is inspired by the 1995 “Superman vs. Aliens” comic book mini-series, co-published by DC Comics and Dark Horse, in which Superman faces the ferocious Xenomorphs on a search-and-rescue mission to a planet without a yellow sun, the source of his immense power.

The set includes two brand new, comic book based figures, both with over 30 points of articulation. Superman stands approximately 7″ tall, features a fabric cape and comes with attachable eye blast effect. The Alien stands approximately 9″ tall and has a bendable tail.

These figures do look cool, although I’m pretty sure that Superman still had his long hair in the Superman vs Aliens story back in the mid to late 1990’s.

On a side note,I do think that a Superman vs Aliens movie would be a cool thing to see.

He did have his mullet back then you’re right. The story was published in 1995 during the hey day of Supes’ superhair days. Here’s hoping for an animated version at least. If we already got a Batman/Ninja Turtles crossover film, then surely one of these days we’ll get a Superman vs. Aliens animated feature.

And I hope that they don’t depower Superman. I want to see Superman fight the xenomorphs at his full strength with all of his powers at full power.

Well he was depowered to a level of being able to fight the aliens to a standstill in order for the story to progress without the sun being close to him since he was in a very dark and cold place. In the sequel: Superman/Aliens Godwar he was at full strength when Darkseid gets hold of the xenomorphs when he plans to invade New Genesis. That was all for the sake of the story and it made sense to me.

I do know that there was a third entry to the series where Superman teamed up with Batman to fight both the Aliens and the Predators. There was even a fight with the Alien queen if I remember correctly.

I do remember him being depowered as well. Maybe they could make it into a three part movie with the last one having Superman team up with Batman to fight the xnomorphs and the predators.
