“My Adventures With Superman” Animated Series Announced

HBO Max and Cartoon Network announced today that they have ordered two seasons of a new animated series titled “My Adventures with Superman”.

Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, “My Adventures with Superman” introduces us to twenty-somethings Clark Kent, the bright and driven Lois Lane and their best friend Jimmy Olsen as they begin to discover who they are and everything they can accomplish together as an investigative reporting team at the Daily Planet. Promising a mix of action, comedy and romance, the new series has received a two-season order from HBO Max and Cartoon Network, as announced this morning by Warner Bros.’ Head of Kids & Family Programming, Amy Friedman.

Described as a serialized coming-of-age story, “My Adventures with Superman” will follow Clark as he builds his secret Superman identity and embraces his role as the hero of Metropolis—and perhaps the world. Lois, now growing into a star investigative journalist, takes aspiring photographer Jimmy Olsen under her wing. All the while, Clark and Lois are falling in love, sharing adventures, taking down bad guys, stumbling over secrets and discovering what it means to be Superman and Lois Lane.

Actors Jack Quaid (“The Boys”) and Alice Lee (“Zoe’s Extraordinary Playlist”) will lead the My Adventures with Superman voice cast as Clark Kent and Lois Lane, respectively. The series is produced by Warner Bros. Animation with Register (“Teen Titans Go!”) serving as executive producer. Jake Wyatt (“Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus”) and Brendan Clogher (“Voltron: Legendary Defender”) are on board as co-executive producers and Josie Campbell (“She-Ra and the Princesses of Power”) as co-producer.

“It’s been a great partnership working with Cartoon Network and HBO Max to bring more DC Super Heroes to the platform in new and creatively interesting ways,” summed up Register. “This is the first animated Superman series in many years and we want to tell our Superman story through the trio of Clark, Lois and Jimmy—whose relationship dynamic will allow for rich, serialized and engaging stories as we explore their lives as individuals and their journey together as friends.”

Stay tuned for further details regarding a release date.

Batman seems to be getting a dramatic action adventure thing so of course it’s Superman that ends up with something wacky.

I agree but they said Batman would be “re-imagined” ! With what’s going on in this day and age, I wouldn’t count on it being anything other than what’s been polluting TV with it’s woke agendas on every series. It’ll be kiddie!!

The premise sounds interesting… but judging by he screen shot it already has your obligatory diversity baked in from the get go. It will probably have your obligatory lgbt character somewhere in there as well.

Don’t get me wrong I’ll still watch it though, but it seems like it has to have your token stuff in every show now. Mind you I’m Hispanic so I find it a little insulting that everything has to have a minority baked in just because according to Hollywood I don’t get enough representation. I don’t need to be represented in everything I watch. It’s called escapism for a reason.

I understand exactly what your saying, I’m Mexican and my first reaction was a sigh when I saw the picture. But I am looking forward to this since I believe its the first Superman series since the Bruce Timm one that started in 1996! I guess you could count the Legion of Superheros animated show he was in that as Superboy in 2006. Still it has been awhile.

I’m looking forward to seeing this. It’s been a long while sinceSuperman had an animated series. It’s about time that he did.I just hope that they don’t make him like the way he is on Superhero girls. Vain, egotistical, and full of himself. Hey HBOmax, how about a Brandon Routh Superman series? There’s still plenty of time to make an announcement before the winter holidays. 😉

I wonder what his suit will look like in this series. Will it be the traditional one or something new?
And the villains. Will we see Lex, brainiac, Bizarro, Darkside, Doomsday perhaps?
I can’t wait to find out! 😀

Looking at this photo I’m kind of reminded of the anime series my hero academia. I’m a big fan of that show by the way. 🙂

I am really looking forward to this. Now we will have a Superman series in both live-action and animation formats. From what I see on this picture, the “character design” seems anime-inspired. I really can’t wait to add this to my collection of Superman TV series.

Man, I saw the announcement of this, alongside the new Batman cartoon. Batman: Co-production between Abrams, Reeves and Timm, striking poster that takes its cues from Golden Age Batman and BTAS. Superman: Bare-bones logo with an animation still done in the abominable CalArts style that regurgitates the exact same character designs across multiple properties ad nauseum in a show that doesn’t appear to actually have any gravitas. I honestly hate everything about this. I hate the approach to this, I hate the animation style, I hate this weird reactionary position from a good chunk of the public that seems to… Read more »

Yep….everything apparently HAS TO revolve around Phonywood and it’s liberal one sided base. Not to mention, here we go again with more burnt out “Lois” and Superman. It to will be kiddie with a heaping order of wokeness.

About time, looking forward to this. However I’m tired of them always changing the original character color skin. They want a black or another POC character, great, include characters like Ron Troupe instead. Characters like Ron are barely used, what a waste.

Also while I do like Los Lane, I think they are going overboard with Clark and Lois thing, I think it would be great if they expand the cast to include the Superman family, like Supergirl, Superboy, Power Girl, Steel, and Krypto.

It’s saddening to see people focused on character races rather than the actual premise. I’m really excited for this. Focusing on the characters’ friendship is a great idea. It reminds me of the 1950s Adventures of Superman, my favorite Superman show. I wonder if the title could be an intentional reference.
