The New York Post reports that Christopher Dennis, who has dressed up as Superman on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for nearly 25 years, has hit an all-time new low.
For nearly 25 years, a Los Angeles based Christopher Reeve lookalike turned heads on Hollywood Boulevard as a Superman impersonator. But now Christopher Dennis is feeling a lot more like Clark Kent than Superman. Dennis was robbed and had his suit stolen last August, forcing him to live on the streets.
I met him many years ago. Nice guy. I hope fans come through for him.
This shouldn’t happen to anyone let alone to a guy who is just entertaining people. Worst part is you know at least part of the reason they did it to him is just so they could say they beat up Superman.
I know some people consider those on Hollywood Blvd. more like panhandlers than they do street performers, but this is just terrible. The beating would have been horrific in and of itself, but nobody deserves to be homeless. Christopher did have a GoFundMe set up, though.
