As Superman fans know, Henry Cavill (and his mustache) are part of the next chapter in the “Mission Impossible” film series.
During an appearance on “The Graham Norton Show”, fellow cast members Tom Cruise and Simon Pegg revealed that they had a bit of fun with Henry and his connection to Superman.
Simon Pegg: We were shooting a car chase in Paris and it was me, Tom, Sean Harris, Ving Rhames and Henry. So it’s a very cramped car, particularly with Ving and Henry who are both big guys, and me in the middle. Bombing around Paris, and every time we finish the shot, we have to reset the shot, drive back to the start point so we can do it again. Henry has had enough of sitting in the cramped car, so he says, ‘Can I run back, I’ll run back.’ So Henry took off and ran back to position one whereas we just drove next to him going, [mimics classic Superman theme song].
Tom Cruise: He was doing the score, we’re just driving, he did the whole thing the whole way, right next to him.
Henry Cavill: It’s one of the coolest moments of my life is having Tom Cruise do that driving next to you. You know you’ve made it.
“Mission Impossible: Fallout” will be released on July 27, 2018.
So asinine that they wouldn’t let him shave his mustache.
matt, i know! i was curious why he couldn’t shave after tom broke his leg. there must’ve been downtime.
Tom broke his leg right after the JL reshoots finished (which is hilarious) and Henry is under contract to keep it till all production had wrapped.
So is reshooting 90% of Superman’s lines for the sake of it.
Please tell me when and where it says that Henry reshot 90% of his lines?
Because the official release was that he shot ADDITIONAL scenes only.
I was being a bit snarky, but in JL almost every speaking role Henry has is with a CGI upper lip. 90% is a hyperbolic joke, due to all the CGI upper lip in nearly every speaking shot. When he returns to life, cgi lip when he talks, at the Kent Farm cgi lip when he talks and during the final battle cgi lip when he talks. And please pray tell where you got this information? Let me set things straight for you… All of Henry’s performance in JL save the opening cell phone footage and quite possibly the mid credit scene where filmed by Zack Snyder. And those scenes needed no CGI on the lip. His dialogue was also done at the time. All this major BS that most other sites reported in regards to Henry’s whole performance being reshot and CGI’d is as fake as Kim Kardashian’s looks! Variety, Hollywood Reporter and Forbs all reported it. Those are not click bate sites. They are reliable and credible sites. Charles Roven even confessed to bringing Joss Whedon on much earlier than initially reported, to start rewriting in sometime early last year. And yes, those sequences were shot by Snyder, but again, when he’s speaking, when he’s delivering lines, when he’s talking, in those sequences he has CGI lip. “I know you, tell me do you bleed” is a line during the Snyder shot sequence with cgi lip. Roven stated very clearly that 90% of this was Zack’s film, and the reshoots were minor.
The CGI mustache is something that was picked up by many sites, and blown out of proportion.
Doesn’t help that people like Kevin Smith also jumped on the bandwagon.

the only explanation I can think of for not shaving for the mission impossible movie, is that maybe there is a scene where he is seen shaving the moustache off.
