Jor-El and Zod discuss Krypton’s fate. They disagree over Zod’s Planetary Security Force. They fight! Lara breaks up the fight and throws Zod out. Cut to a month later where a holographic Jor-El tells the people of Krypton that with their help conserving energy the planet might be saved. Zor-El and Alura watch Jor-El from home. Zor-El wants to restart the Survival Zone project. Amid all this Zod implements his plan of sending all the planet’s “criminals” into the Phantom Zone under the pretense of helping the population. Meanwhile Lara has some news to tell Jor-El.

2Story – 2: This story just feels like it’s going through the motions. Their are a few different twists on the story, such as Zod being the one who wants to send the criminals (at least the ones he feels are undesirable) to the Phantom Zone and Zor-El’s involvement. There’s a little more intrigue and Zod and Jor-El’s relationship is fleshed out more but there’s nothing new to see here.

3Art – 3: Oeming’s art continues to be satisfactory. His character designs are just too blocky for my taste but his backgrounds, especially that double splash page of the city from Jor-El’s apartment, are quite good.

3Cover Art – 3: The cover tries to convey what’s happening in the story and does a decent job but it’s not very eye catching.

2Variant Cover Art – 2: This doesn’t do much for me. The chalk design is just too rough and it’s just too simple. Doesn’t impress.
