As the Justice League Dark deals with black magic, the main League has their hands full battling whatever comes out of dimensional rifts in their efforts to clean up the Royal Flush Gang’s mess. Jack, after all is said and done, reveals that they wanted to use Superman’s Fortress and its technology to steal a meteor full of space minerals and ores, shrink it and regrow it as they see fit. Their plan went awry when rifts began to form throughout the planet. The Justice League take care of things as they always do. With the chaos fixed and the Fortress back to normal the Royal Flush Gang is taken into custody. Superman needs aid to return the Fortress to the Bermuda Triangle. Meanwhile Leo Lane has joined Checkmate while Black Adam promises to keep an eye on the recently thanked Green Arrow in case his power and wealth corrupt him.
Story – 3: This is a a decent issue, but in addition to feeling like it crams two issues into one, the story seems incredibly rushed. I had hoped it would have the even pacing of previous chapters. It isn’t the mess that “Legion of Superheroes: Millennium” was. There is room for improvement, and I expected more from Brian Michael Bendis.
Art – 4: Hester is a good artist. Yet, some panels and costume symbols are downright sloppy in this issue. They aren’t bad enough to merit a poor score. The mistakes stick out like a sore thumb enough to lower the rating, however.
Cover Art – 5: While the blurb can be considered something that ruins the image, the art itself works wonders as a main cover.
Variant Cover Art – 5: This variant would not work for any other character besides The Flash. Alexander Lozano is one of the best artists out there. It’s a pity he doesn’t get more publicity.
