The Hall of Justice has fallen. The Justice League defeated. Synmar wants to offer Earth to his people as payment for his sins. Past and present Leaguers unite to continue to combat their foe. Yet, it’s Black Adam and Naomi who seem the closest to beating Synmar. All of this happens while John Constantine takes Naomi’s parents to Doctor Fate’s dimension to safeguard them. The rest of the Justice League Dark is elsewhere in this issue. The United Order has arrived on Earth as the Justice League continues to battle Synmar.

5Story – 5: This is a more action oriented oriented chapter, but it’s still good. Is it leading the United Order getting their own comic? Only time will tell. Suffice it to say that this story is going at the pace of a Kryptonian foot race, and Bendis succeeds in using the formula he used in his Marvel books. Let’s hope we see more of Constantine and Naomi in this series.

5Art – 5: My qualms with the art are more from an editorial standpoint than about the art itself. Phil Hester is a good artist. Yet, his style would perhaps be better suited for the next serial in this book. The change from David Marquez to Hester is jarring and perhaps proves this comic should be a monthly so the creative teams can meet deadlines.

5Cover Art – 5: This one makes anyone who sees it curious about the comic’s content. That’s always a plus in my book.

5Variant Cover Art – 5: I would have preferred an image of the Justice League instead of Batman, but I did like the art on this variant.
