Nightwing’s Justice League team has been freed by Lex Luthor. Now, they must sail the waters on the Lana, a ship Lex made from parts he found in the Arkham Wastelands. Time is not on their side after their conflict in Starro Valley, which in itself is a giant Starro. If our heroes don’t find Perpetua’s throne soon, there may be no way of saving the Legion of Doom and Martian Manhunter.

The Omega Knight and the Mindhunter are aware of the Justice League’s plans. This is due to Martian Manhunter’s foremost thoughts being of Hawkgirl during the latter’s fight with J’onn. Perpetua’s henchmen attack Nightwing’s team.

4Story – 4: I do wish more had been done with Detective Chimp and Starfire. However, considering the scale of the whole Death Metal arc, perhaps we’ll get more as “Doom Metal” progresses. It would have also been nice to have more of the characters’ backstories for those who haven’t read or have forgotten what went on in other titles. This isn’t very reader friendly in some points, but it is an entertaining and engrossing comic nonetheless.

5Art – 5: It isn’t the same style as the previous issues, but it works just as well. I’m not a fan of changing artists in the middle of a story arc. It’s why I feel this title should be monthly instead of bi-weekly. That could give the serial’s assigned artist time to meet their deadline.

5Cover Art – 5: This is another standout cover from Liam Sharpe. He’s perfect for the type of comic being published in this story.

5Variant Cover Art – 5: Simone Bianchi is one of my favorite Italian artists. His Wolverine and Thor are awesome, but so is this cover.
