Our two groups of heroes have arrived at the epicenter of our story: The Ragna Rock tearing apart Sonic’s world, with Darkseid and the seventh chaos emerald almost certainly in there. After some light bonding, the teams figure a way in thanks to Cyborg and Tails, with the plan being to retrieve the seventh emerald and reverse all the damage.
Of course, during all this time, Darkseid has learned how to control the Ragna Rock, and an epic final battle for the fate of this earth commences. The Justice League and their counterparts all use their powers and wits to buy Cyborg and Tails time, and a distraction from Green Lantern and Silver helps Flash and Sonic steal the seventh emerald from under Darkseid’s nose. Using the wacky physics, Sonic and Flash walk on each other’s feet to float-run their way towards the other emeralds, and one spin dash later, Super Sonic enters the fray…
And Darkseid is too slow. While Super Sonic fights him like an equal, and the other heroes keep distracting, Flash, Tails and Cyborg use the supercharged but emerald-less device by having Flash run on Tail’s tails like a treadmill.
But Darkseid is beyond caring, even for himself. Using his strongest power, he attempts to delete the entire reality, himself included. Thankfully, The Flash is fast enough, and with one touch, Darkseid loses and the day is won.
The League find themselves back home, and the Sonic characters are back home too, their gambit having reversed everything to before it happened, meaning all the damage is gone.
Well… Almost all. It turns out the worlds are still open to each other… And Lex Luthor and Robotnik have plans…
THE END… FOR NOW…
Story – 5: An explosively fun ending to what was a very fun crossover to review! It did hit a little bit of a lull in the middle, but in the end of the day the mission statement was met: We got to see the DC heroes and the Sonic heroes have some banter and fun, then they beat the snot out of Darkseid. Hard to ask for more, really! All the gambits were especially standout, not to mention the incredible teaser at the end. If this gets a sequel, we’ll truly be spoiled!
Art – 4: Decent as ever, especially impressed by the fight sequences and that amazing Eggman Robot with the Luthor Power Suit.
Cover Art – 5: Looks like a video game cover in the best way. One of the best covers all year.
Variant Cover Art – 4: Quite nice, love the colors and the sideways angle!Check out the Mild Mannered Reviews contents page.
