We flashback to Victorian Age England again where Rora has rescued the Super Sons from a monster. She convinces them that she can send them back to the future, but only if they take her with them. While talking a giant troll approaches, reproaching Rora for being in the “enchanted forest” and bringing more people with her. Robin doesn’t trust Rora and attacks the troll, to no avail, while Superboy follows Rora’s lead. Superboy convinces Robin to trust Rora, and the three enter her tree home, leaving the troll to guard. We then see Faust and Savage watching the interactions through a glass ball. The stress of the alliance is beginning to show and Savage angrily yells at Faust that they don’t need anymore plans.
Story – 3: This provides a lot more context for issue 11, there was a little trouble with my comiXology app, they sold me issue 11 twice, instead of issues 10 and 11. This issue was a lot of standing around and conversing, not much happens other than exposition, which really hurts these smaller weekly reads. It would have been nice to weave this information more naturally into the story, or at least in smaller snippets. Robin distrusting Rora and instantly attacking the troll were fun moments, as was the troll’s and Rora’s belief that Superboy should be in control of Robin. It is sad seeing the innocent boy Superboy was and realizing the trauma he experienced from Ultraman while growing up, that would lead to some serious issues.
Art – 5: The art was fine, again, it matches the feel of this section of the story, but my preference is always for one artist for an entire run.
