“The House of Kent” – Part Five

The Parasite from another Earth has nearly killed Conner Kent. However, the timely intervention of the rest of the Super Family and Brainiac 5 has saved him. The Parasite has shrunk at the end of the intense conflict, with Brainiac placing him in a Legion containment field. However, the war with the Invisible Mafia is far from over as Red Cloud has angrily strangled and possibly killed a falling Superman. The rest of the House of Kent will need all the power at their disposal to defeat the Red Cloud and the Invisible Mafia. Otherwise, Metropolis and maybe even the entire multiverse are doomed.

As the Super Family fights the Parasite and Red Cloud, the F.B.I. is listening to Marisol Leone’s claims against Lois Lane while they try to evacuate the Daily Planet building. Questions arise concerning Lois’ identity and her father’s death. This leads to Lois angrily attacking Leone. The result is Lois being arrested.

5Story – 5: A lot happens in a mere 18 pages, and every panel will make you want the next issue to hurry up and come out. This chapter lives up to the comic’s title because there is a lot of “action” and multiple cliffhangers that’ll leave you on the edge of your seat. This chapter of this great story arc is the best yet. I really am extremely impatient for issue #1027.

5Art – 5: The art isn’t perfect, but it has gotten better in the past couple issues. I miss Romita’s style from Spider-Man, but he’s doing a bang up job on this title now.

5Cover Art – 5: This one is one of Romita’s better covers. Sure, there’s room for improvement. However, it’s still great.

5Variant Cover Art – 5: This should be the cover for the Bendis “Superman” and/or “Action Comics” hardcover, trade and/or omnibus. This is the best Parillo art to date.
