5As the F.B.I. continues their raid of the Daily Planet, Marisol Leone has ordered Red Cloud to murder Deputy Fire Chief Melody Moore. Superman is shaken by her death because he couldn’t help her. Supergirl, Brainiac 5 and both Superboys console him and join him in his war on the Invisible Mafia. The Super Squad finds Whisper, a spy for Ms. Leone. Superman may succeed in defeating the Invisible Mafia if Ms. Leone doesn’t unleash her new secret weapon which could be her ace in the hole.
Story – 4: While Bendis crammed too much in this month’s Legion of Super-Heroes issue, the current issue of Action Comics is a good, fast paced story. My only complaint is that the death of Melody Moore is a bit rushed. I had hoped to see more of the character. Perhaps we’ll get more details of that and more of a look at reactions to her death as this serial progresses. I hope that is the case because it feels shoehorned in to the story at the last minute. Other than that, this continues to be one of the best comics this month.
Art – 4: I really wish Romita would work on improving his maskless faces. They look off at times. Still, he’s a great artist in spite of the flaws in his run on this series.
Cover Art – 4: Romita’s covers suffer from the same problems as his interior visuals. However, he did a fine job with this one.
Variant Cover Art – 5: By golly, this is another awesome Lucio Parillo cover. Put him on a Superman book as interior artist, DC.

Flaws? His “art” continues to be atrocious; the sooner they get someone else on art duties, the better.
