Midnight Cast for “Supergirl” Season 5

Variety.com reports that Jennifer Cheon Garcia has been cast in the role of Midnight for Season 5 of “Supergirl”.

Midnight is described as the physical manifestation of darkness, a murderous villain released from an otherwordly prison to enact revenge against the person who put her there.

It’s unclear if Midnight is based on any previous DC Comics character, as this description does not match that of any other character known as Midnight (or Mid-Nite for that matter).

Garcia’s previous work includes roles on “Girlfriend’s Guide to Divorce,” “Zoo,” “Minority Report,” “Arrow,” “Supernatural,” “The 100,” “Lucifer,” and “Travelers.”

Something I was thinking about a year or so ago was that I would like to see some of these Arrowverse shows have a go at inventing their own heroes and villains.

If they did a good enough job at it some of those characters might catch on well enough to make their way into the comics.

BtAS and StAS invented Livewire and Harley Quinn. Although Harley Quinn made it into the big time more than Livewire. Also wasn’t Jimmy Olsen created on the radio first and then made his way into the comics?
